find the right white

White is the foundation of most interior paint schemes, but it can be hard to figure out which white to use when there are so many to choose from. The quality of natural light your room receives, the artificial light at night and the other elements in the room, from floors and furniture to the greenery or view outside your windows, will all influence how white is perceived.

A warm white like Sherwin-Williams SW 7001 Marshmallow, shown here, creates a calming and soothing bedroom look. Bright whites like SW 7006 Extra White, below, work wonderfully in bathrooms. Timeless whites like SW 7004 Snowbound, bottom, feel soft and inviting, particularly in living rooms.
